If you are missing a tooth or series of teeth, all-porcelain dental bridges can offer the ideal solution. At Metro Decatur Dental Group PC near Stonecrest Georgia, we place dental bridges that provide a natural appearance, reduce a patient’s risk of periodontal gum disease, and correct speech and bite difficulties. In addition, dental bridges eliminate the possibility that your remaining teeth will shift to fill the gap left by a missing tooth.

Dental bridges consist of a custom-made false tooth supported on either side by one or two porcelain crowns, or composite bonding material. The dental bridge is used to aesthetically eliminate the gap left by a missing tooth, giving the patient a decade or more of comfortable wear and beautiful smiles. The living space of a crown can depend on the amount of “wear and tear” the crown is exposed to, how well you follow oral hygiene practices, and personal mouth-related habits. Metro Decatur Dental Group PC serving Stonecrest, GA invites you to visit our warm, professional practice.

There are several types of dental bridges, each chosen according to your needs and the location of the missing tooth: the bridge is only removable by a dentist. With a traditional fixed bridge, the replacement tooth is held in place by two crowns, and the bridge is only removable by a doctor. A resin-bonded bridge is ideal for front teeth and in situations when the surrounding teeth area is healthy and with no large fillings. Stonecrest Cementing Temporary Crowns and Bridges

Cantilever dental bridges are used when there are teeth on only one side of the gap. Dental bridges, regardless of type, are placed in two visits. In your first appointment, Dr. Gary Simms will prepare the teeth surrounding the gap, then take an impression and place a temporary bridge. The impression is used as a guide for the crafting of the bridge’s false tooth and crowns. You will wear the temporary bridge until your next appointment, during which your permanent bridge will be cemented into place, fitted, checked, and adjusted.

Stonecrest is a city in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The boundaries of the city generally lie in the far southeastern corner of the county, and a smaller portion just north of Interstate 20. The city borders the existing municipality of Lithonia, as well as Rockdale and Henry counties.
Residents in the area voted in the November 2016 General Election to approve the city. In March 2017, elections were held to elect representatives for five city council districts as well as mayor. Jason Lary, a former insurance executive, concert promoter, and advocate of incorporation was elected the city’s first mayor.[3] The City Council members are District 1, Jimmy Clanton, District 2 Rob Turner, District 3 Jazzmin Cobble, District 4 George Turner and District 5 Tammy Grimes. Also the area is represented at the county level by District 5 Commissioner Mereda Davis-Johnson and Super District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran- Johnson.

The city had voted a plan to deannex 345 acres of its territory so that the Georgia Legislature could create a new city, to be called Amazon, Georgia, if Stonecrest had been selected to host Amazon’s new corporate headquarters, a project which would result in billions of dollars of investment and the creation of 50,000 jobs,[7] a number equal to the estimated population of Stonecrest.[8]
