Dental Implants

At Metro Decatur Dental Group PC, we offer advanced dental implant solutions to restore missing teeth and improve your oral health. Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone, serving as a sturdy foundation for replacement teeth. They are the closest mimic to natural teeth in both function and appearance. Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, implants are permanent and integrate with your bone, preventing bone loss and maintaining facial structure.

Our skilled team uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure precise placement and optimal results. The process begins with a thorough examination and consultation, during which we assess your oral health and bone density to determine your candidacy for implants. Once the implants are placed, a healing period allows them to fuse with the bone. After this, custom-made crowns are attached, providing a natural-looking and durable solution.

Crowns and Bridges

Metro Decatur Dental Group PC offers crowns and bridges to restore damaged or missing teeth, enhancing both function and aesthetics. Crowns, also known as caps, cover and protect weakened teeth, preventing further damage and improving appearance. They are custom-made from durable materials such as porcelain or ceramic, ensuring a natural look and feel.

Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth, anchored by crowns on adjacent healthy teeth. This not only fills the gap but also prevents surrounding teeth from shifting, which can lead to bite problems and further tooth loss. The process involves taking precise impressions of your teeth to create a perfect fit.

Dentures

For those missing multiple teeth, Metro Decatur Dental Group PC offers high-quality dentures that restore functionality and aesthetics. Dentures are removable appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. We provide both complete and partial dentures, tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing, while partial dentures are ideal for patients who still have some natural teeth remaining. Our dentures are custom-made to fit comfortably and look natural, enhancing your smile and improving your ability to eat and speak.

Root Canal Therapy

When tooth decay or infection reaches the pulp of a tooth, root canal therapy becomes necessary to save the tooth and alleviate pain. Metro Decatur Dental Group PC specializes in providing effective root canal treatments to preserve your natural teeth and prevent the need for extraction.

Root canal therapy involves removing the infected or damaged pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the interior of the tooth, and then sealing it with a filling. This procedure eliminates pain and infection, restoring the tooth’s function and preventing further complications. Our experienced team uses advanced techniques and anesthesia to ensure a comfortable and efficient procedure.

Decatur is a city in, and the county seat of, DeKalb County, Georgia, which is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. With a population of 24,928 in the 2020 census,[3] the municipality is sometimes assumed to be larger since multiple ZIP Codes in unincorporated DeKalb County bear Decatur as the address. The city is served by three MARTA rail stations (Decatur, East Lake, and Avondale). The city is located approximately five miles (eight kilometers) northeast of Downtown Atlanta and shares its western border with both the city of Atlanta (the Kirkwood and Lake Claire neighborhoods) and unincorporated DeKalb County. The Druid Hills neighborhood is to the northwest of Decatur. The unofficial motto of Decatur used by some residents is “Everything is Greater in Decatur.”

Prior to European settlement, the Decatur area was largely forested (a remnant of old-growth forest near Decatur is preserved as Fernbank Forest). Decatur was established at the intersection of two Native American trails: the Sandtown, which led east from the Chattahoochee River at Utoy Creek, and the Shallowford, which follows today’s Clairmont Road, and eventually crossed near Roswell. A site for the DeKalb County courthouse was designated in 1822 in what would become downtown Decatur; the city of Decatur was incorporated on December 10, 1823. It was named for United States Navy Commodore Stephen Decatur.
