Our dental bridges consist of a custom-made false tooth supported by one or two porcelain crowns or composite bonding material. These bridges effectively close the gap left by a missing tooth, offering over a decade of comfortable wear and enhancing your smile. The lifespan of a crown depends on factors such as wear and tear, oral hygiene practices, and personal habits. Dental Crowning near Dunwoody, GA

There are various types of dental bridges tailored to your specific needs and the location of the missing tooth. A traditional fixed bridge uses two crowns to secure the replacement tooth and can only be removed by a dentist. A resin-bonded bridge is ideal for front teeth when the surrounding teeth are healthy and free of large fillings. At Metro Decatur Dental Group PC serving Dunwoody, Georgia, we provide crowns and bridges to enhance and protect your smile.

Cementing Temporary Crowns and Bridges in Dunwoody

Cantilever dental bridges are used when there are teeth on only one side of the gap. The placement of dental bridges, regardless of type, typically requires two visits. During the first appointment, Dr. Gary Simms will prepare the teeth surrounding the gap, take an impression, and place a temporary bridge. This impression guides the creation of the permanent bridge’s false tooth and crowns. The temporary bridge is worn until the second appointment, where the permanent bridge is cemented, fitted, checked, and adjusted for optimal comfort and function. Visit Metro Decatur Dental Group PC in Dunwoody, GA, for expert care and long-lasting dental solutions.

Dunwoody is a city located in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. As a northern suburb of Atlanta, Dunwoody is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. It was incorporated as a city on December 1, 2008 but its area establishment dates back to the early 1830s.[3][4] As of 2019, the city has a population of 49,356, up from 46,267 in the 2010 Census.[5]

The Dunwoody area was established in the early 1830s and is named for Major Charles Dunwody (1828–1905), an extra “o” added with the incorrect spelling of the name on a banking note.[6][7] Charles Dunwody originally returned to Roswell after fighting in the Civil War, in which he fought for the Confederates.[8]
