Treating Infected Tooth Extractions in Candler-McAfee, Georgia

Following an infected tooth extraction, it may be necessary to apply pressure multiple times to stop bleeding. Once a blood clot forms, it’s crucial not to disturb it. Avoid activities like vigorous rinsing, using straws, smoking, drinking alcohol, or brushing near the extraction site for 72 hours to prevent clot dislodgement. Limit strenuous exercise for 24 hours to reduce bleeding risk due to increased blood pressure. Expect some pain and swelling post-extraction, which can be managed with prescribed pain medications. For wisdom teeth removal near Candler-McAfee, GA, apply ice packs to minimize swelling and follow pain medication instructions. Contact Metro Decatur Dental Group PC if pain persists or if prescribed antibiotics need attention.
