If you are missing a tooth or series of teeth, all-porcelain dental bridges can offer the ideal solution. At Metro Decatur Dental Group PC near Pine Lake Georgia, we place dental bridges that provide a natural appearance, reduce a patient’s risk of periodontal gum disease, and correct speech and bite difficulties. In addition, dental bridges eliminate the possibility that your remaining teeth will shift to fill the gap left by a missing tooth.

Dental bridges consist of a custom-made false tooth supported on either side by one or two porcelain crowns, or composite bonding material. The dental bridge is used to aesthetically eliminate the gap left by a missing tooth, giving the patient a decade or more of comfortable wear and beautiful smiles. The living space of a crown can depend on the amount of “wear and tear” the crown is exposed to, how well you follow oral hygiene practices, and personal mouth-related habits. Metro Decatur Dental Group PC serving Pine Lake, GA invites you to visit our warm, professional practice.

There are several types of dental bridges, each chosen according to your needs and the location of the missing tooth: the bridge is only removable by a dentist. With a traditional fixed bridge, the replacement tooth is held in place by two crowns, and the bridge is only removable by a doctor. A resin-bonded bridge is ideal for front teeth and in situations when the surrounding teeth area is healthy and with no large fillings. Pine Lake Cementing Temporary Crowns and Bridges

Cantilever dental bridges are used when there are teeth on only one side of the gap. Dental bridges, regardless of type, are placed in two visits. In your first appointment, Dr. Gary Simms will prepare the teeth surrounding the gap, then take an impression and place a temporary bridge. The impression is used as a guide for the crafting of the bridge’s false tooth and crowns. You will wear the temporary bridge until your next appointment, during which your permanent bridge will be cemented into place, fitted, checked, and adjusted.

Pine Lake was established as a city in December 1937,[4] after a short life as a summer retreat run by the Pine Woods Corporation. The corporation sold lots around a small fishing lake to Atlantans who lived in (then) faraway areas like Buckhead for use as a weekend retreat. The 20′ x 100′ lots sold for $69, and the advertisement for lots directed people “from Decatur down the [unpaved] Rockbridge Road East.” Many homeowners continued to use their property as a weekend getaway long after the city incorporated. Prior to development, Pine Lake was a portion of a farm. The lake was formerly a widened region of Snapfinger Creek, and the valley that encompasses much of the town was where corn was grown. The lake was dammed by the Army Corps of Engineers as erosion and flood control, prior to the official FDR lake projects.

Pine Lake is located at 33°47′29″N 84°12′23″W / 33.79139°N 84.20639°W / 33.79139; -84.20639 (33.791505, -84.206428).[5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2), of which 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) is land and 5.00% is water.
